Tired of throwing away plastic shampoo bottles? Making the zero waste switch to a more eco friendly shampoo bar will do more than help the environment. It will also be more gentle on your scalp.
My shampoo bars don't contain sulfates, synthetic fragrances, triclosan, polysorbates, polyethylene glycol, etc. They are just simple natural cold process soap bars with beer for b vitamins and protein, and pure essential oils of peppermint, rosemary, lavender, and thyme for increased circulation and to encourage growth.
I put a lot of thought into this recipe and I love it! It is a nice firm bar and lasts a while. (Although no real soap will last a while if it is not allowed to dry. Please keep your soap on a slatted surface.)
Bar soaps are more gentle and don't strip all of the oils from your hair. If you have never used a natural shampoo bar soap before, your hair will likely have too much oil at first. Your scalp will need an adjustment period. For the first few weeks your hair will feel stickier or more oily. I have used natural bar soap to clean my hair since 2014 or so. I like it much better. :)
*Pure and simple
*No artificial colors or scents
*Scented only with pure essential oils
*Net wt. approximately 5 oz
To use: Wet hair. Apply the soap to your scalp, rather than to your hair. Part hair in several places, rubbing the bar on your scalp each time. Lather your hands with the bar and then set the bar down and massage scalp all over to build up the lather. Rinse well. Condition as usual.
